The River Hiking trail leads from the campsite over the Rondegat river onto the western slope of the valley. It is an easy trail. The view onto the campsite, fruit orchards and valley is nevertheless fantastic.
The eastern slope can be explored on the Geelhoutskloof trail.
A lot of herbal plants can be found along the path, one of them the precious buchu. The mountains glow red just before sunset. An ideal place for a sundowner. (1.5h)
The Rooiberg trail leads up onto the Rooiberg. On this 3.5 hour long round trail one will see wild dagga, rooibos and buchu. Klipspringer antelope, rock rabbits, tortoises and other wildlife are sometimes encountered on this hike. From top one has a breathtaking view onto the valley and the Nieuwoudt pass.
